We drove up to Yosemite Lakes Campground today for the start of our Wallace Family reunion. Everyone one slowly trickled in today and did dinner on their own while they unpacked. The kids and some of the adults all played games in the meadow behind our cabins and a few card games got going too.
Grandpa Altop brought his trailer up and was right across the road from our cabins in the middle so his place became the gathering place.
Thursday a big group of us headed into the park. First stop was this look out.
We all then met up at Curry Village to catch the shuttle bus to Vernal Falls.
We hiked up to the bridge at the bottom of Vernal Falls, after a break for lunch and snacks, we headed back down. I missed the shot of it, but at one point Brandon laid back on a rock to rest and a squirrel walked right across his chest. They are not afraid of people. Rachel is not the best hiker. She kept stopping. Bob was nice enough to stay back with her and bring up the rear.
At the bottom of the trailhead was the river, so a few decided to cool off real quick.
We then made a quick stop at Yosemite Village thinking the ice cream shop was there. It wasn’t so back to Curry Village for a treat.
Our family along with Kristen, Marci and Lisa were in charge of dinner that night. It was the one meal everyone ate together. So we arranged the tables, and got our meal on.
A few other random shots from the day.
This deer just walked right past our group as we waited at the bus stop. Walked right on by us to a meadow.
