For the 4th of July weekend we got away as a family here in town. Since we are short on vacation days this summer this was our chance as a family to get way. We went to the Arizona Grand Resort for the weekend.
We had a ton of fun, swimming at the water park, eating out and just being together.
We ate at the Rainforest Café the first night. Rachel was so funny when the animals would “wake up” she would get so excited. From our table we could see the elephants and the gorillas. Last time we ate there in Vegas she was a little scared, not this time.
The second night we ate at Rustler's Roost. It is up on the side of the mountain above the resort, with a great view of the valley. They have a slide you can go down to get into the dining room, a live band, and the highlight – rattlesnake!! The boys surprised me and they all ate it, and liked it.
The hotel had a really nice water park where we spent our days. The night we got there Bob put his back out so he spent the mornings in the lazy river just floating, then after lunch we kept Rachel at the room for nap while the boys and I went back for more.
The boys did it all Lazy River, wave pool and water slides. Rachel loved the wave pool. She has a great float and loved to get float in the waves, when the waves weren’t on she loved to swim around and jump off the side.
We have decided that we need to make this an annual family get away.
On a side note, we are officially potty trained!!!! She went the whole weekend we were away with no accidents.
