Today we docked at Nassau in the Bahamas. We got off the ship and struck out on our own. We had mapped the places we wanted to see and Google only let us down a bit!
First stop was Fort Charlotte. Fort Charlotte is a British-colonial era fort built on a hill over-looking the harbor of Nassau, The Bahamas. The fort sits a short walk west of downtown Nassau and the cruise ship terminal. The fort was constructed in the late 18th century by British colonial governor Lord Dunmore after the end of the American Revolutionary war. The fort has never been used in battle.
This is where Google was a little off, but we found it.
After that we headed back into the center of town to The Pirate museum. It had a mock up of a pirate ship and a ton of artifacts. It was really cool.
Then we headed back inland a bit to Grey Cliff hotel and Chocolatier. It is a working chocolate factory where we had a tour and made our own chocolates.
After some shopping we headed back to the ship. It was a really fun day with lots of walking.
