Wax Museum

Brandon has been working on a big project for Language Arts since shortly after the beginning of the new year. All of the 7th graders at the school get to pick a "famous" person to research. Brandon chose Edgar Bergen. He is a ventriloquist.
For this project they had to write a 4-5 page paper on the life of their person. They also had to perform, at school in a "Wax Museum" at our Open House. They had to make a backdrop, and come up with a costume, and speech.
Since Edgar Bergen was a ventriloquist, he really had 2 people. His dummy Charlie McCarthy, was a huge part too. Without Charlie and Edgar, ventriloquism would not have been popular.
So as part of his costume, we had to make a 'Charlie'.
Brandon really wanted to order one on-line, but we made our own. I personally think it turned out really good.
Brandon did a great job last night. They had to sit there for the whole 2 hours of Open House, and anytime someone "pushed their button" they had to give their speech about the person. Brandon memorized not only facts about Edgar Bergen, but part of a routine he was famous for.
The best part of the evening was when an older gentlemen stopped by to listen and said, " Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy, I loved that show".
