Sun Splash

Bob had to fly home on Sunday so Sherrie and i took the kids to Sun Splash for the day. It was so HOT today, I think it got to 108. For Sacramento in June that is hot.

It was a fun day for all. I love how well our kids get along and like to hang out with each other. Everyone is big enough to do all the slides so it was fun to go together on some.

We stayed until they kicked us out :) We were all tired when we got home and slept well.

Castle Edward Allred

Today we did a graveside service and dedication of the grave for my Grandpa Allred. He passed away in May, and laid to rest next to Grandma who passed about 4 years earlier.

This was the first chance that everyone had to come into town. We met out in Dixon at the Veterans Cemetery. It was the first time I had seen my Uncle Rod and his son Ryan in years.  It was also nice to see Debbie his first wife.

Dad dedicated the grave and then we all went to Randy’s for lunch.

It was nice to visit and catch up with everyone. We found out that my Uncle works just down the street from mom and dads house.

We were missing Richard, but no one really know where he is. Plus his 2 kids. Brian and Sam and their kids were out of town also.  Who knows when we will all be together again.

Salt Flats

As we left Utah today and headed to Sacramento we made a quick stop at the Bonneville Salt Flats. I had stopped there in collage once, but the kids had never been.

Dinosaur Museum

We were looking for a low key activity today since we had been busy all week. And we still needed to pack.

I went in thinking we would spent 30-45 minutes. We were there for almost 2 hours. The kids and even Bob and I had a great time. I was really impressed with the museum. Lots of great exhibits, and lots of things to read and learn from. Plus they had lots of cool dinosaur bones.

Bridal Veil Falls

So we decided this morning to take a hike to Bridal Vail Falls. Bob and both remember it being an easy hike that the kids could do no problem.

So we get there and hike about 5 minutes. We see a bunch of people playing in the water, but the falls are really far way and high up. We both remember being able to get closer, so we kept going.

After walking for about 30+ minutes we finally ask someone if there is a way to get closer to the falls. They didn’t think so. The kids were getting bored by now so we turned back.

When we got back to the “falls”, we let the kids take off their shoes and play for a bit.

Even though it wasn’t what we expected, it was a nice morning. The weather was beautiful and so was the scenery.

“Old” Friends

On Saturday we got together for dinner with the Hodgson’s, the Steeds and the Rollins. It was the first time in about 5 years that we got together with kids and all. It’s always so nice to sit and catch up. Even though it had been years, it didn’t feel like it. I’m sure the kids would disagree.

It was tons of fun to sit and visit, but I took no pictures.

The boys made plans to meet up and go shoot in the dessert.

Thursday was the day. Jim picked Bob up and they met Austin and Samson. They had a good time being boys and playing without the wives!!

The kids and I had our own adventure while the boys were out. We decided to go find a place to eat. According to google and our GPS there was a Wingers Diner just about 2 miles away. Well it wasn’t there any more. We remeber seeing a Costa Vida about 3 miles the other direction, well it was there, it just was not open for another week :( So we ended up at Chick-fil-a !!!
