Ethan and his friends-Roanin and Tyler decided to do Battle of the Books this year. They signed up at the beginning of the school year. After a few weeks they had a change of heart. The weekend before the battle they decided to do it.
They have to read 4 books so they each picked one and Roanin had 2 since he had already read 1.
They pulled it off and tied for 3rd place!!!
We had the chance to make the drive out and attend the Phoenix Temple Open House. It is a much smaller temple than the one here in Gilbert. It was very pretty inside. It was such a nice experience to go through another temple with the kids. I can’t believe Brandon is almost old enough to go through himself.
Brandon received an acceptance letter today from NAU in Flagstaff. He also received a letter offering him a full scholarship if he decides to go there.
He is pretty excited about it. BYU is still his first choice, then BYU-I or ASU. But it is still pretty cool to be accepted and receive a scholarship.
This morning the elementary school had an assembly to honor the kids that for the first quarter had academic excellence, perfect attendance and character counts.
Rachel got both an academic excellence award and character counts award for Respect!
Ethan got his award for being on the Honor Roll.
We had a great last day, it was the most crowded yet in both parks and the late afternoon and evening were a little crazy, but we still had a great time.
We started in Disneyland and the morning was not very crowded in the first 2 hours we rode most of the major rides in both Fantasy and Tomorrow land!
We headed to CA for the afternoon, again we got to do what we wanted without to long of a wait for anything.
It was a great trip, but it’s still hard to believe that this might have been our last trip as a whole family. Brandon will leave in a few months on his mission and who know what will happen after that. Glad we had the chance to make a few more memories together.
We spent today over in California Adventure. Again we had a ton of fun. Rachel could ride everything except for California Sreamin.
We saw more characters, ate yummy food, and stayed late and watched World of Color. It was amazing. We had great seats right up front. Between the wheelchair and our priority seating tickets we were right in front. We got pretty wet, but it was worth it.
Someone was so tired she fell asleep like this before we were even out of the park and didn’t move once until we got back to the hotel.
