Happy Birthday Ethan

Today Ethan turned 10!!!

He usually gets the shaft on his birthday since we are traveling it seems like the past few years, so this year we kind of made the week about him.

Sunday we had cake and ice cream to celebrate both Ethan and Mom’s birthday. Ethan got to pick his favorite meal for dinner. He of course picked breakfast for dinner. So we had pancakes, eggs, hash browns and of course bacon!!

Monday night we let him open his presents. He didn’t want to wait until Tuesday night when Bob got home, hopefully we haven’t started something.

He got a new bike, a lock and helmet-so he can ride to school this year. Mine craft Lego set. 2 board games that he played this summer on vacation and loved- Pandemic and Bang. He also got some money and gift cards.

Today being his real birthday was all about Ethan and what he wanted. For breakfast he wanted Chick-Fil-A. He loved being the only one who got it.

We then went as a family to see Turbo. It was a cute movie.

Headed Home

Sunday morning we packed up and said goodbye to all of our family. Since we had to drive through the park to head home we decided to make a few more stops.

First stop was right outside the park. Everyday when we went in we were with a group and didn’t stop, but I wanted a picture with the kids by the Yosemite sign.

Second stop was Bridal Vail Falls. This was almost dried up this year. But it is still pretty.

Next stop was the Wawona Valley. We saw the Hotel and golf course had a quick lunch and then headed to Mariposa Groves to see the giant sequoias

We only did part of the hike to the big trees. The kids were all tired and weren’t all that interested.

The adults played games and visited. The big kids all kept to themselves and played games together too.

After dinner that night Jeff and Kristen did Minute to Win it games for everyone. Everyone was put into teams of 4. Bob and I were a team with Parker and Stephen, but he didn’t want to play. It was a ton of fun and everyone from the littlest kids all the way to Great Grandpa got to play.

Bob and I were 1 of the 2 teams to successfully do the can game. In the end a few teams were tied so we did a dice stacking game, and Mom won!! She gets bragging rights until next time.
