Grandpa Redfearn

Last Saturday April 13th my Grandpa Robert Milton Redfearn passes away.

I was able to fly to Las Vegas on Friday night and meet Sherrie and drive to St. George for his funeral.

We rented a car in Vegas and were quite surprised when we saw this LITTLE beauty.

It was a brand new Fiat!! It was both fun and a little scary to drive. We actually made a U-turn in Grandmas drive way so someone didn’t have to move their car when we ran tot the store. And even parked there again when we got back!

The funeral was very nice and it was so fun to see distant relatives that I haven’t seen in probably 20 years and to sit and visit with cousins. Uncle John gave the eulogy and Dad spoke on the plan of salvation. My cousin Justin dedicated the grave.

This is the first time I can remember since we have all started getting older that all of us cousins have been together.

This is Dad and his 2 bothers John and Bob. Uncle Bob has lived with Grandma and Grandpa the last few years and taken really good care of them.

He will be greatly missed, but I am so grateful that we are an Eternal Family and that we will be able to see each other again someday.

Computer Crash

Not many pictures and things to share for April. Our computer crashed and we lost all the pictures we hadn’t moved over to our external drive. Which is everything from February to now!!! Including our cruise and Sherries visit. I am so glad for this blog and the fact that I have recorded so many of those things and so they aren’t really lost forever.

Happy Birthday Zachary

Today Zachary turned 14!! It is so hard to believe that 14 years have gone by since he has joined our family.

For Zach’s birthday this year we went to Costa Vida for lunch which. He and Rachel were total buddies that day.

We let him open presents the night before so he could have all weekend to play. (in between General Conference Sessions)

Oh Rachel

Rachel is always making us laugh or surprising us with what she says. I need to better at writing it down, but this one I couldn’t let go.

Last week she watched Hunger Games with her brothers. The next day she came to me and asked me if I knew what a bloodbath was?

I said yes, but do you. She said “Yes, it is not a bath with blood. It is when people fight and there is a lot of blood and people die.”

So we had to have a little talk about how it wasn’t real and it was a movie and how we don’t kill people, never thought I would be having that talk with my little girl.

So apparently we now need to have a talk with our boys about age appropriate movies for a  4 year old!!!

Easter

On Saturday after the boys got home from the Father and Son’s campout we colored Easter Eggs. Rachel and Ethan still get so excited about doing this but Brandon and Zachary have out gown it and do it only to make me happy. This may be the last year I can get Brandon to do it.

Sunday morning was a little crazy and I realize now that I never got a picture of all my kids together. 8am church will do that to you.

We got them all up and told them that in order to see their baskets, and hunt for eggs they had to be completely ready for church. The Easter Bunny had hidden their baskets under a blanket so they couldn’t see it.

They hurried and got ready and we had just enough time to look at baskets and hunt for eggs before we rushed out the door.

Rachel got a Barbie camera, a princess ribbon dance thing and a new Doc McStuffin shirt. The boys got 2 new Wii U games.

Then the egg hunt began. Sorry for the blurry pictures but they were in a hurry and weren’t waiting for me.

Fun with cousins

We were lucky enough last week to have Sherrie and her kids come and spend their spring break with us. We had a busy fun filled week much of which got its own posts, but here are a few random things and pictures that we did.

Grant has some really loose teeth. He wouldn’t let anyone try to pull them. One day he let Rachel try. (it did end of falling out during dinner on Thursday night)

The kids all played together so well. At the park, in the backyard, at home and of course playing video games.

Ethan “bought” with his class money a pack of glow sticks and they had a blast one night with them.

We also went out to eat a few times :) Here is one of the times that we took the kids with us. We went to Red robin for lunch.

We also had a girls shopping day. We went to the mall, and out to lunch. This was the first time that Rachel has got to join the big girls. She did great.
