While Sherrie and the kids were here we spent part of the day at Goldfield Ghost Town. The older boys were in school, but we let Ethan out to go with us. Its only about 30 minutes away and the kids had a lot of fun and the weather was perfect.
We started off our visit by panning for gold.
The kids did a great job and they all came away with 2 little bottles of gold and other precious rocks and gems. They were really concentrating on getting all of the good stuff out.
Then we went up to the Saloon for lunch. I have to admit the food was only so-so, but the kids loved the decor and the guys singing was totally worth it. We didn’t realize until about half way through lunch it was a live singer out on the patio, he was that good.
The view on the patio wasn’t bad either.
Next we spent some time exploring the town and stores.
Our last stop of the day was the Mine. Its a cute little tour. It was informative, short and perfect for the kids attention span.
They have a really LOUD whistle they blow when a mine tour is starting as we were taking a few last shots it went off as you can see the kids didn’t really like it.
