Pinewood Derby

Pinewood Derby was tonight. Ethan made a monster truck this year. Of course with everything going on, between sickness, physical therapy for the other boys and just life I didn’t get many pictures of the actually making of the car. Only on the first day.

But as you can see it turned our pretty good.

The night of of the Derby Zachary and I had a special meeting at the High School for in coming freshmen. So we missed it. Here are a few pics from the night.

He got the ward for Most Creative and took 2nd place in the Bear Den!! Great job Ethan. You may not have had the fastest car, but you have the attitude of any kid out there. We are so proud of you hard work.

Old School Games

At church right now I am in Activity Days. I work with the 8-11 year old girls. For a recent activity we had an old school game night. We taught them how to play marbles, pickup sticks, jacks and Chinese jump-rope. I was able to bring and extra jump-rope and pick up sticks home. So Sunday afternoon the kids had fun playing with all of these cool “new” games I brought home.

Ethan and Rachel LOVED the jump-rope.Zachary got tired of it really fast so then I spent the rest of the afternoon sitting on the couch with my book and letting them use my legs to hold one side. They also played pick up sticks and marbles, but they didn’t last very long.

I love it when my kids discover something that I loved to do as a kid.

Disney on Ice

Tonight we had the chance to take Ethan and Rachel to Disney on Ice. For Christmas I had tried with a friend to get tickets for our girls. But all the decent priced tickets sold out way to fast. So when Bob came home from work and said that he entered his name in a drawing at work for tickets I was so excited. He won the tickets and we had a blast.

The seats were great, and the skating was great too. I only had my phone so some of the pictures aren’t the best. Even Ethan enjoyed it.

Bowling

Thanks to Randy and Leslie we were able to go bowling over the break before Bob and the kids went back to work and school. I love our local bowling alley it is so clean and family friendly.

We aren’t the best bowlers,but we sure have fun. Our Zachary won both games. He has some crazy form, but it got the job done he beat us all.

Happy New Year

We had a bit of a quiet new years around here. Bob and I were just getting over the flu. So glad that we celebrated our anniversary early. Rachel used her new Easy Bake oven and made a treat for everyone. We played a few games and then the kids had some fondue, thanks to the fun gift we got from the Cahoon’s. Then Brandon headed off to the dance with his friends.
