Rachel and I had the chance to fly out to California a week before my bothers wedding to help out and to visit with family. She has flown before but doesn’t remember it. She was so excited to go on the plane. She is usually not one to just strike up a conversation with a stranger, but today she would talk to anyone who would look at her. She told them she was going on a plane to Grandma’s house and we were going to a wedding. She told them she was 3 and was going to 5 on her birthday. Luckily she is cute and charming so people didn’t mind her talking.
She did great on the plane. Sat in her seat the whole time and played. She was an angel. Especially compared to the boy behind me. Who kept kicking my chair, talking to his dad really loud, yelling at his mom about 4 rows behind him, and just being a spoiled brat.
While there we had a bunch of fun with Grant and Emma. They love Rachel and are so good to her. Since they don’t see her very often they just dote on her and she just lets them. One night Sherrie and Jamie went out so we all hung out. After a trip to McDonalds for dinner we hit Leatherby’s for a scoop of ice cream and then the park.
Since the kids were in school and since she didn’t have the big boys to watch her, Rachel spent all of her time with Sherrie, Grandma and I running errands and doing wedding stuff. Then when the kids got home she played with them until after dinner when they would go home. Most nights after they left she would ask if it was bed time yet!! I took this picture 5 minutes after I left her one night. We to to share a bed at Grandma’s house where we stayed the first part of our trip, and she is not a joy to sleep with so we had “the line” as she called it. This was so she wasn’t all over me all night long. I learned the hard way the first night. I don’t how she wakes up rested, she flips and flops all night long. I also discovered she talks in her sleep.
