BRACES

Today Zachary joined the ranks of those with Braces.

He isn’t that sore yet, but it coming. He will probably have them about 2- 2 1/2 years. He will add the facemask like Brandon has in about 6 months.

Riparian Preserve

For one of  the merit badges that Zach was doing at scout camp had to go to a local area and observe plants and shrubs and get a soil sample before camp. So Bob took him and Ethan and Rachel to explore. It was really hot that day and Rachel didn’t have a hat that fit so she wore my visor that I walk in. So it is a little hard to see her face in some of the pictures. This is a really neat Nature Preserve were you can always count on seeing lots of birds and other animals.

Stake President’s Award

Brandon earned the Stake President’s Award tonight at Seminary Graduation.

Every year there is a list of requirements that that kids can do all year long to earn this ward.

The requirements were 1. Complete five periods of 30 consecutive days of scripture study. 2. Complete five periods of 30 consecutive days of personal prayer 3. memorize the 25 master Scriptures 4. Memorize the books of the Old Testament( this is what they studied in Seminary this year) 5. pass these requirements off the the Bishopric member in your ward.

Sing Along Gang

Rachel has loved her singing class with her friends and Miss Kristen this year. They had one last performance this year. It was so cute. She did wonderful. She stood up so tall and proud and sang her heart out.

This is her and Kameha after the performance. Her buddy Colt was missing he was sick.

We sure hope that Miss Kristen does class again next year.

Moroni

Bob, Rachel and I had the chance today to watch Moroni go up on the temple.  I think just about every Mormon in the area was there too.

So I got the flu on Sunday and Bob on Monday, but Tuesday we were both just starting to recover when we got word he was going up about 1:00. So we headed down to Discovery Park to see. It was totally worth it, even if it was 106 degrees and  Bob did get really sick again that night.

Music Concert

This quarter Zachary has had music. They have a really neat music teacher at the school so not only do they so some singing and reading of music they also get to play the marimba.

Zachary forgot to mention that he was going to be playing the marimba during one of the songs, so I was quite shocked to see him sit down and play. He did a great job.

Under Classman Awards

We were pleased to open the mail last week to find an invitation to the Under Classman Awards for Brandon.

He was in the top 5% of his freshman class.

Great Job this year Brandon.

Day Camp

Ethan got to go to our Stakes Cub Scout Day Camp today. He had a lot of fun. Here are a few pictures that his leaders sent.

Gilbert Temple Visitor Center

We are so lucky to have a new temple being built here in Gilbert. It is only 2 miles from our house. They have a little trailer on the property that you can go and see the work , see a video and ask questions.

A few of us from the ward decided to take the little kids down one morning. The youth had gone about 2 weeks before.

Rachel really enjoyed it, I was surprised how much she understood. Now every time we drive by she want to know when it will done so she can go in.
