Team RBug: Relay for Life

This is the 3rd year I have had the chance to participate in The American Caner Society’s Relay for Life.

It is a fun packed night of walking(this year I did 8 miles), visiting, dancing, and just having fun while raising money for a great cause.

Our team is awesome. This years theme was Relay Magic all things Disney. So we were pirates.

I forgot my camera that night so I stole a few form Marie.

I walked all my assigned walking times with Jamie. We had School Spirit laps, Pirate Laps and Princess laps. This is the Princess Laps. We also walked the transportation lap with Marie and her “bus”.

Here are a few more pictures from the evening. I can’t even explain what a great night it is. And the ladies on our team are the best.

Easter Sunday

This morning started really early at our house. Rachel usually has a child lock on her door so she can’t get out at night. But since Emma was sleeping in her room while they were visiting we took it off. So she came down at 6:20am and was ready to go look for eggs.

Bob and I were able to keep her at bay until about 7:30 when she got the boys up. They were not that excited to be woken up that early. Especially since church isn’t until 1:30. They all came down to my bed and climbed in with me. In the meantime Rachel had found a recorder and was playing some beautiful loud music to get us up.

After she finally go us up, we headed down stairs to see what the Easter Bunny had left.

Most of the pictures are a blurry. I don’t know if they were just moving to fast or the camera was on the wrong setting.

Before church we had just a few minutes to snap a few pictures of the kids all dressed up.

Coloring Eggs

This is a tradition that I both love and hate.

I love how much fun the kids have and love to see them get so excited to see what they can create.

I have having a dozen or more hard boiled eggs around. I don’t really enjoy eggs and so it seems like a waste to me. I also don’t love the mess that comes with it.

But in the end the looks on their faces as they color the eggs is totally worth it.

In case you wondering, Brandon is now to “old” to enjoy this tradition. This is what he was doing.

Zachary is 13

Happy Birthday Zachary! it is hard to believe that you are 13 already. It seems like just yesterday you were our happy chunky little boy.

We started the day with chocolate chips pancakes per Zach’s request. (All the kids were off school today so we were going to live it up. It was also the Cahoon’s last day.)

Then it was off to bowling! Well after standing in line for 10 minutes only to be told it would be 45 minutes for a lane. We headed to the movies!!!

Then it was home for presents!!! Which of course included lots of computer and video games and $ to buy more games.

For dinner that night we had bean and cheese burritos one of Zachary’s favorite meals.

Then cake and ice cream.
