AZ Weather

It happens every year it seems like. It feels like fall will never come. Then overnight it is cold. With boys it is not that big of a deal. They always have tennis shoes. So it doesn’t really matter that things cooled off.

Well girls are a different matter. Add to that a little girl who has just outgrown all her shoes and you have a really interesting fashion statement.

This morning since the boys were wearing pants she wanted to also. No big deal. Thanks to her cousin Claire she had some great pants in the closet. But when they were putting on socks and shoes she wanted to also. (I guess we haven’t worn socks all summer because this was really exciting.) But the only shoes she has right now that fit are flip flops and this one pair of sandals.  But she made it work. So today we had to run out and get her some tennis shoes. Even though the weather is only going to stay like this a few days.

Conference Weekend

Last weekend was General Conference and it was such a great weekend. It is always so nice to listen to the Prophet and our other church leaders. I always come away so uplifted.

Saturday was spent with the kids playing quietly together while we listened.

Sunday we made our annual Conference Doughnuts. The kids love them and eat a ton of them. Every year it seems we make more and more.

It was nice to not have a ton of meetings and just be together as a family.

Court of Honor

Recently the Scouts held a Court of Honor to award the boys all of the merit badges and ranks they had earned.

It had been about a year since the last one. The boys earned a ton of badges at scout camp this year so it was really exciting to see then get so many badges.

Zachary earned- Rifle Shooting, Mammal Study, Environmental Science, Citizenship in the World, Citizenship in the Nation,Citizenship in the Community, Leather Works, Computers,Fire Safety,Geology, Indian lore, Law, and Wood Carving.

He is also now a Star rank.

The Best toys are….

The best toys aren’t toys at all, but everyday things. When Bob got home from China, his suitcase was sitting in the family room waiting to go out in the garage.  It was a few days before it made it back to the garage.

Rachel lived in it for about 2 days. It was her car, an airplane, a house, a baby bed, a dog house, and a few other things. She even ate her lunch there one day.
