National Junior Honor Society

Tonight was the induction ceremony for San Tan’s National Junior Honor Society. Zachary was one of the 28 that joined tonight. Their advisor Ms. Dana said it was the 2nd biggest group that she has ever had.

Here he is signing his name into the chapter record.

Not the best shot, but here is Zachary, and two of his best buddies Chase and Easton.

Cub Scout

014

Last night was Ethan’s first cub scout den meeting. He was so excited to go. He had fun and can’t wait to start earning awards.

What’s a girl to do?

Now that the boys are gone all day again at school. Rachel is trying to figure out how to spend her days. If she had her way she would sit in front of the TV all day playing with toys.

But since mom won’t let that happen she has found a few other things to keep her busy:003

Water Color painting she can go through a whole thing of water colors in one sitting.

Dressing up

015

washing her hands with soap, I think she has gone through a whole bottle since school started. Today she even told me that washing her hands is her favorite thing.

She also loves play-doh, her baby dolls and having friends come over.

Middle Names

My kids know I mean business when I throw in their middle names.

Today Rachel was mad at Ethan and yelled at him in her best “mommy”voice- Ethan Ann. Then Zachary said she did the same thing to him the other day. After we had a good laugh we tried explaining to her that Ann is her middle name not the boys. I don’t know if she got it or not.

Can you tell she get Rachel Ann A LOT!!

First Day of School

Well we now have a high school, middle school and elementary school student at our house!!

001

Brandon started at Higley High School today. He was given a schedule last week, but it isn’t official until they go to first period today. So I don’t even know what his schedule is like. I can’t wait until he gets out today to see how it went. I will add his schedule later. This is going to be a year of homework for Brandon I think. He has all Honors classes, so he has his work cut out for him. He is more like Bob every day.

005

Zachary is in 7th grade - Middle School. He is excited about changing classes every hour. Last year they changed for Science and Reading but the whole class moved together. The only bummer was when comparing schedules with his friends they had different classes then he did. They all still have lunch together so that is what matters.  For his “electives” this year he has a quarter each of Spanish, PE, visual art and music.

012

Ethan is starting 2nd Grade and is so excited. His teacher is Mrs. Hinz.  He is excited to have his buddy Jaxon in his class again this year. It was so cute this morning to see all of his class from last year searching each other out and finding out who was together again. His class last year really bonded. I hope that he has that same type of class and teacher this year.

010

Then there is Miss Rachel. She was the first one ready!! She even packed her “lunch” when the boys did. She was a little sad she didn’t have a class too. She still has 3 more years until she goes. I hope she stays this excited about school. To make up for not going to school she got to go have her toes painted.

020

Brandon left for school before the other kids even got up. He starts at 7:30 and they don’t start until 8:50. So he missed out on the group shot this morning.

Ethan’s Baptism

On Friday July 29th Ethan was baptized in Sacramento.

065

It was a really special night for us. We were able to have both Grandparent’s, lots of Aunts, Uncles and cousins there.

Aunt Sherrie and Alyson both gave great talks, and Brandon played some wonderful prelude music. Ethan was baptized by Bob and then given a wonderful blessing, during his confirmation.

It was a perfect ending for our trip.

California Trip

We just got back from our most recent trip to Sacramento. The kids and I got to spend 2 weeks there. Bob had to work so only got a total of about 3 days with us.

Most of the time was spent packing my parents to move. Yes, the house SOLD!!

048

It is both happy and sad. I am so excited that they now have a place that mom can move her chair around with ease. But it was a little sad pulling out of town knowing that we wouldn’t be back to “their house”.

The new house is beautiful, and I am sure we will make just as many happy memories there.

While we were there we also celebrated both mine and Ethan’s birthday.  On the first Sunday we were there before Bob left to go home, we celebrated with the Wallace Family. We did dinner, presents, and cupcakes.

Then on his real birthday we went to Grant’s soccer game and then headed to Texas Roadhouse for lunch.

Then the next day (Sunday), we had dinner with my Grandpa and the rest of my family and Aunt Sherrie made her secret recipe Oreo Cupcakes.

We also took a day off from packing and took the boys to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Sherrie’s daughter was still in Canada and Rachel spent the day with Grandma and Grandpa Wallace so it was Sherrie and I and the boys!! It was a short day but we had a lot of fun.  They have some really fun roller coasters. The only downer was while riding the River raft ride (our last ride of the day) Grant and Brandon got SOAKED!!  While we were all laughing at them, Sherrie ducked her head to miss a splash and when she brought her head up, she lost the hat she was wearing Sad smile. It was my favorite hat. It is gone forever.

On they way down to the park we made a quick stop in Dixon to the VA Cemetery. Where my Grandma was buried. I wasn’t able to be there for the funeral, so it was nice to be able to go and visit.

Here are just a few more random pics of the kids and their cousins. I didn’t take that many pictures this trip.
