For Brandon’s birthday this year we redecorated his bedroom. He was an active participant. He picked out everything. He went with a movie/theater theme. He is very interested in movies and directing. So we find a vintage movie directors award poster, a movie clapboard, a old movie camera, some framed pictures and a 101 worlds greatest movie quotes.
It was really fun working with him to decide how it would all come together. He is happy with it and that is what it is all about.
Today at school was the 2nd Annual Fun Run.
The 6th graders were the first to run. Rachel and I both went up to support Zachary. He ran his heart out. He did 11 laps.

Next up to run was Ethan. He ran like CRAZY, I had a hard time getting a picture of him, he would run by so fast. Ethan did 12 laps.

Last but not least was the 8th grade.
They were a sight to behold. They didn’t so much run as move around the track in big packs. They also “ran” a different track than the other kids. Brandon wanted me to make sure I posted their track was much larger. So his 4 laps were probably close to the same as the other kids 10+. As not to embarrass Brandon I took his picture from afar.( I think I was the only parent there to watch the 8th graders run).
He did run after the first initial lap!
It was a really fun day and the weather was perfect. The only way it could have been better was if the kids all ran back to back!!

I am happy to report that my Mom was released from the Rehabilitation Center on Thursday. She is doing well, but still has a long road ahead of her.
She has such excellent care over the past month, it has made all the difference.

Thank you to everyone who stepped up and helped our family so that I could go out there a few weeks ago. It meant so much to me to be able to go help out.
The last few weeks when we have come home from church we have decided not to give Rachel a late nap. If we give her the late nap then she doesn’t want to go to bed at night.
Well she decided to take one on her own. She has fallen asleep like this the past 2 weeks. I guess she really needed that nap after all.
This week Zachary got to attend Science Camp up in Prescott with school. Bob was able to go as a chaperone.
They had a really good time. The only thing was that it was SO cold up there. The low’s were in the single digits with out the wind chill, and the daytime highs weren’t much higher.
But they survived and had a lot of fun. Here are the highlights.
Cabin mates and cabin fun:
The camp was called Chapel Rock this is the outdoor Rock Chapel.
They had lots of outdoor classes, here are pictures from a few.

This was a frozen waterfall, near the camp. It was that cold.

Today is Brandon’s 14th birthday! I can’t believe it has been 14 years since we welcomed him into the world and into our family.
Brandon you are such a great big brother, a good friend and an wonderful son.
